NARBW Chicago Gets the Blues

Over the summer, Chicago Chapter members supported the Blues Heaven Foundation, founded by legendary blues musician Willie Dixon to preserve and promote the heritage of American blues music.

Members volunteered at historic Chess Records, the foundation’s headquarters, preparing merchandise for the Chicago Blues Festival. They later staffed the Blues Heaven booth during the festival at Millennium Park, where they were honored to meet Willie Dixon’s daughter, Jackie Dixon, who runs the foundation. It was a fun and rewarding way to give back while enjoying some great Chicago blues.
