NARBW Chicago is proud to announce that we are now an official Illinois Operation Lifesaver (ILOL) partner organization. Several of our members became Authorized Volunteers today. They each successfully completed the online and in-person training and are ready to promote rail safety in our communities!
Operation Lifesaver is a national nonprofit rail‑safety education organization dedicated to preventing collisions, injuries, and fatalities on and around railroad tracks and highway‑rail grade crossings through free public education and community outreach. We look forward to participating in future volunteer initiatives that help spread this life‑saving message throughout our communities.
Congratulations to our new OL Volunteers: CleLeatha Shaw, Michele Williams, Alma Cervantes, Mishael Sherley, Sharon Slaton and our Chapter President Jasmine Manley. Special thanks to our excellent instructors —Tony Mills, the Public Safety Coordinator with Metra’s Police Department and ILOL Executive Director Aisha Jackson — and to Metra for hosting the class at their headquarters.
