Yolanda came from the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and held an administration sales position for 14 years before joining Amtrak in 2009. She is based at Chicago Union Station and started her Amtrak career in the State Supported Services Department. In 2017, she moved over to Government Affairs and Corporate Communications Department as the departments Business Services Specialist and collaborates closely with vendors, Amtrak Procurement Department, and the Amtrak Finance Department. Another responsibility is assisting Human Resources with the new employee on-boarding process.

Yolanda was President of the National Association of Railway Business Women (Chicago Chapter) in 2017-2018. She was also the National Secretary from 2018-2020, Scholarship Chair from 2018-2023, the 2022 National Convention Chair, and the National 2nd VP/Finance Chair for the organization. She is proud to represent Amtrak at the National Conventions and meetings.

Yolanda and her husband Jimmy will be celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary at the end of the year. They have four grandchildren and one on the way. In their spare time, they like to travel, explore different restaurants, and enjoy outdoor activities.
