Enthusiastic about fostering supportive communities and empowering individuals through access to resources, Sonia brings a wealth of expertise and passion to her role in her work as well as her private life.
With extensive experience in benefits management, policy development, and employee relations, Sonia has held influential roles at organizations such as Erie Neighborhood House and Erie Elementary Charter School, where she served on the Board as a Parent Representative for 3 years. As a strategic HR leader, Sonia excels in translating organizational goals into actionable HR initiatives that improve employee engagement and operational efficiency.
Sonia serves on the NARBW Board because she believes in creating equitable opportunities and supporting the well-being of underserved communities. Her personal interests—traveling, cooking, scrapbooking, gardening, and spending quality time with family—reflect her dedication to nurturing relationships and building vibrant, connected communities. Her experience working closely with diverse teams which allows her to bring valuable insights into collaborative efforts that promote social good.
Beyond her professional role, Sonia enjoys exploring new cultures through travel, experimenting with culinary recipes, preserving memories through scrapbooking, and cultivating her garden. She is also bilingual in Spanish, which enhances her ability to connect with and serve diverse populations in our community.
